Some of you may remember meeting friends at the local soda fountain that also was the local drugstore. At the turn of the century the soda fountain was an important part of the drug store. It created an atmosphere to meet people in the community as well as to catch up on the gossip over your favorite malt or milk shake.

Apothecary bottles lined the walls and held some of the most interesting color liquids that many had seen. Different color bottles were also popular especially cobalt blue because light could have an effect on the contents.

Most of the drugstores had beautiful stain glass windows, marble floors and columns to add to the decorative touch of the building.
